    Thank you for making videos like this. We need you to make more video tutorials like this. We have at our disposal many components that we are not aware of how to use them. For users like me, All Access, I think it's essential to videos like this. By the way, the books should be free for the customer, not paid, it is a very ugly detail.

      Thank you for your kind words and for appreciating my video tutorials. I’m glad to hear that you find them helpful in navigating the various components available. Regarding the suggestion that my books should be free, I understand your perspective. However, it’s important to remember that, like anyone else, I have bills to pay and need to support myself. Additionally, when you purchase a license from TMS, I do not receive any compensation from that transaction. Creating and maintaining high-quality content and resources requires significant time and effort. Your support through purchasing my books enables me to continue providing valuable materials and tutorials. I hope you understand, and I appreciate your support. Thank you again for your feedback and for being a part of this community.

    Hi Holger, I was wondering if all previous components installed with subscription manager have to be uninstalled before using Smart Setup? Thx in advance

    • @holgerflick
      @holgerflick Місяць тому

      Tobias, this is an excellent question that I should have covered thinking about it. Previous installer or manual installations will have to be removed/uninstalled. SmartSetup does not use the Windows Installer registry and is not able to recognize previous installs etc. On a positive note, this will be the last time you have to invoke the installer for an uninstall...

    • @holgerflick
      @holgerflick Місяць тому

      😂 Peter, yah hard to believe that with two commands all this is possible. Think of NPM how many switches you have to learn. As Delphi developers this does not pose a challenge at all (I read your comment as sarcasm as the command line is essential for version control, administration and other tasks these days). If you were serious about not using CLI in 2024, TMS does offer a GUI for certain. Any CLI tool is more efficient than UI though as you can automate the process and only have to create your batch file/script once.

    Nice video Holger. I love CSS and HTML and I particularly like CSS Grid. On a TMS webinar I asked Bruno about why TMS prefers Bootstrap and not use CSS grid. I don't think he really understood where I was coming from. Now, seeing you doing this, has reignited my interest in TMS and CSS instead of Bootstrap. I already know CSS and HTML quite well but know little of Bootstrap and don't really want to try and remember yet another selection of codes and terminology. TMS web core using HTML and CSS sounds far more up my street.

    • @holgerflick
      @holgerflick 3 місяці тому

      Web browsers are sometimes really lenient when it comes to these things. Obviously, we should always have things inside the <body> tag, but for some reason it did work. As I point out in the video, this happened by accident, but I fix it before the end of the series. You could even create an HTML document without <HTML> and <BODY> tag and most browsers would show it...

    Thank you Holger. The more I learn about TMS Web Core the more I realize HTML, JavaScript and CSS need to be mastered, however TMS makes it less painful. One clarification if you would, when I build a form there is no HTML, the HTML shown here was written by you - correct?

    • @holgerflick
      @holgerflick 3 місяці тому

      Yes, HTML is an essential part for responsive web design with Bootstrap. However, as shown in many other videos (and also in future ones), it is not as difficult as it sounds and I am sure after trying to build a few layouts, you will be able to get the hang of it. Just as we got started with the VCL years ago, we need to get used to using HTML to align our controls.

    Another great HIWWH video! And the winner is TMS WEB Core! What a time safer to us TMS WEB Core components in RADStudio in comparison to VS Code with the HTML/JS scripting. And if Holger does not using Github Copilot the development in HTML/JS was much much slower. So the combination of DELPHI, RADStudio and TMS WEB Core boost the creating of this little web app (without(!) using any Copilot/AI functionality - think about it!!!). What a great compare and shows us how fast and easy it is to develop a full web app with the language DELPHI we have learned to love and use of the past round about 3 decades [exactly DELPHI turns 29 this year] (or more, if you have started with Turbo Pascal like me back in December 1985!).
